On invitation from CIRAD, GBIF France is offering a training course next September on the theme: “Supporting people throughout the biodiversity data life cycle, providing tools, and encouraging better sharing and promotion of their data in the context of open science.”

The training will focus on:

• Understanding the national and international context and ecosystem around biodiversity data
• Discovering KoboCollect for field data collection
• Discovering OpenRefine for data cleaning
• Understanding biodiversity data and metadata standards
• Publishing data in Dataverse and GBIF
• Introduction to data papers as a way to showcase datasets
• Legal aspects of sharing and promoting biodiversity data
