GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) is launching the regional and cross-regional call for proposals under the Biodiversity Information for Development (BID) programme.

Funded by the European Union through the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), the BID programme aims to strengthen the capacity of institutions and countries in the ACP region to mobilize biodiversity data by making it freely accessible to inform decision-making and support knowledge needs related to the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

Selected projects, covering the regions of Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, and the Pacific, will need to address critical gaps in biodiversity data by mobilizing data, promoting its use in research and public policy, and building lasting networks and communities of practice committed to sharing open biodiversity data.

France may participate as a partner, but cannot lead projects.
